This Situation
First-Hand Aid has provided a helping hand to the people of Cuba for over twenty years. A truly amazing accomplishment considering the ever-changing international economy and political climate. Few non-profits can claim this accomplishment.
Current conditions in Cuba are far more difficult than ever before. Cuba has lost international support resulting in limited or no resources to generate electricity, provide transportation, food or basic medical supplies.
We will continue to provide meals, family support, and medical supplies with our current partners but we believe it is time to take the Next Step!
The Next Step
Increase the number of medicine dispensaries from 3 to 8. Focusing on rural locations. Each location using a Cuban physician.
Address needs of medical specific populations within these areas (i.e. diabetes, hypertension, asthma, etc).
Expand food programs to all dispensary sites. Food programs will focus on the elderly and provide meals to home-bound individuals where possible.
Secure permanent location in Havana to store medication being brought in by various groups.
Develop a plan to fund a full-time executive to oversee all programs and travel.
We can only achieve the Next Step with your help!

$75 - 1 week of meals to 14 households.
