Klaas Kwant. Klaas joined the board after traveling to Havanna with his wife, Candace, and First Hand Aid in 2004. Klaas has applied his skills
in video production to help promote the organization. Klaas remembers one teenage boy whose father had fled Cuba for the United States, leaving behind
his wife and two children. The father and son had raised racing pigeons
together, each one with a numbered leg band for tracking. Klaas
keeps one of those leg bands on his key chain as a daily reminder of the suffering endured by many Cuban families, as well as a reminder to return to Cuba himself.
